The BAM (Barcelona Acció Musical) has a new logo this year and has caused a lot of controversy. Moreover, we already know the names of the first artists who are giving a performance on the different stages of the festival:

The festival takes place during the Festes de la Merce, from 22-24 September 2011 and it is held by the Ajuntament de Barcelona.

A pinch of history

The festival dates back from the year 1993, 18 years ago, and it is connected to the traditional festival of Barcelona in honor to its patroness, the Virgin of La Merce. The most characteristic of this festival are the free concerts. Many famous artists have acted at this fesetival such as Australian Blonde(1993,1994), Supersonic (1995), Sideral (1995), La Buena Vida (2001), Macaco (2002), Love of Lesbian (2003), Dorian (2004), The Sunday Drivers(2005), Ojos de Brujo (2006), Triángulo de Amor Bizarro (2007), Russian Red (2008), Manel (2009) or Goldfrapp (2010), among many others.

Gay Pride in Barcelona and Fire!

Gay Pride Barcelona has come to an end. A whole week of events to claim for the rights of the gay community and equality of everybody. The best event was with no doubt the Sunday Pride Parade which had hundreds of participants going from Plaza Universitat to Plaza Espanya on their floats. There were wearing all kinds of funny dresses and the colors of the rainbow decorating the floats.
